"Uh...You tell me!"
Congratulations! You've learned How to Build Your First Dream Board. You did the work. And your Dream Board is complete.
"We did it!"
So, what's your next step?
Here are the three best things to do once you've made your Dream Board:
1. Put your Dream Board somewhere you can look at it.
Don't stuff your Dream Board under your bed or in a forgotten folder on your computer. You need to view it on a regular basis.
Post your Dream Board on your wall. Stick it on your refrigerator. Save it as the wallpaper on your phone and your computer screen. Tape it to your bathroom mirror.
If you see it, you can be it.
2. Tell a friend.
Share your Dream Board with someone you trust. Speak your dreams into reality. Let the people around you know what your dreams are, why they are important to you, and how they can help.
3. Explore your Dream.
Research ways to move closer to your Dream, today, tomorrow, this month, and this year. The process of learning more about what it takes to make your dream come true will help it come true more easily.
For instance, let's say you want to buy a house someday.
"Done!"
a) What kind of home do you want to buy? Craftsman? Cape Cod? Condo? Mid-century modern? Mediterranean? Mobile? Tudor? Townhouse? Tiny?
"I live here now."
b) Where do you want to live? In the desert? Near the ocean? On a lake? On a mountain? Near a subway or bus stop?
c) When do you want to move? Next month? Next year? In five years?
Even if you don't have your down payment at the moment, you can find out what you need to do to get the house you want. Visit open houses in your desired area. Talk with other future homeowners to learn what they are going through. Ask current homeowners about their process.
Do the work now.
If you stay ready, you won't have to get ready.
Dreamers, have you made your Dream Board? What steps are you taking to make your Dreams come true?
